The ZKProof Standardization effort is now accepting submissions for the 8th ZKProof Workshop, which will be held in Rome on May 9–10, 2026. The workshop addresses the security, implementation, and applications of zero-knowledge proofs. The workshop does not have proceedings and hence, submissions may be based on work in progress, papers under submission, or papers already published at a conference, workshop, or journal. The program committee will select talks with the aim of constructing a balanced program of high interest to the audience and community.
Submissions on any topic related to zero-knowledge proofs are welcome. Please review the current ZKProof documents for examples. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Terminology, definitions, and models
- ZK proof-system constructions and their building blocks
- Implementation of ZK proof systems
- Applications of ZK proof systems, in blockchain and beyond
- Interoperability and integration between proof-system implementations or components thereof (e.g., APIs and file formats)
- Benchmarking
- Domain-specific languages for expressing statements to be proven in zero knowledge
- Security analysis and formal verification
Submissions may consist of novel constructions or analyses, or systematization of knowledge of the existing state of the art.
Submission Details
Submissions must be prepared in LaTeX, 11-point font, single-column. There is no page limit, but submissions are expected to be intelligible to reviewers within the first 5 pages. The structure is at the authors’ discretion, but should include all of the following:
- Title
- Author names and affiliations
- Background and motivation: contextualize the problem being addressed, motivate its importance, and describe the potential impact. Include references.
- Terminology: encouraged to be consistent with existing ZKProof Standardization documents, in particular the Community Reference document.
- Security: including formal security guarantees is highly encouraged (if applicable).
- Implementation: if relevant, include an open-source prototype or implementation with a reference to the code repository.
AI Policy
Substantial AI contributions to the paper must be disclosed. Authors are fully responsible for their submissions and for ensuring that the use of AI does not result in plagiarism. Submissions containing errors caused by AI, such as hallucinated references, may be rejected without review.
Reviewers must read, understand, and be able to discuss submissions themselves, but may use AI to enhance their reviews. Reviewers should preserve the confidentiality of submissions and must not permit training on submitted materials.
